Who we are and what we do...

Durham Employers Care and Health Alliance, (decha), is an alliance of independent and voluntary sector employers providing social care and health services to the people of County Durham.

Our Vision:

The aim of the alliance is to support the delivery of high quality health and social care within County Durham by supporting employers in developing a workforce fit for its purpose.

What we do:

• We offer our members an opportunity to have a voice that counts in local and regional decision making
• We manage funds provided by various government and non-government sources
• We provide access to free and funded training
• We listen to our members to identify training needs within the sector
• We commission and deliver quality training to our members covering a range of skills
• We provide assistance with workforce development planning
• We provide up to date information, advice and guidance
• We facilitate mutual support involving users/carers

How we do this:

Decha is an employer led membership organisation governed by a constitution. The constitution sets out the aims, objectives, roles, responsibilities and governance of decha. Decha's constitution can be found within board documents section.

Decha is hosted by Durham County Council, Adult and Community Services and is based at County Hall in Durham. Adult and Community Services support decha by providing the alliance with its infrastructure and resources to achieve its aims and objectives.
