Hand Hygiene E-learning Available!!

Members, Please be aware that a new e-learning course is now available FREE for all decha members. The hand hygiene course lasts approximately 15 minutes and is great for all staff working at all levels.

Hand Hygiene.

Overview
Developed in conjunction with health care practitioners from a range of fields, the Hand Hygiene course has been designed for those working in the health care sector. This short course explains the impact of poor hand hygiene practices, and practical direction on effective hand hygiene.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the hand hygiene course, the learner should have:
•An understanding of the role and importance of hand hygiene
•A practical understanding of correct hand hygiene technique
•An understanding of when to perform hand hygiene

Course Content

The hand hygiene course covers:
•What infection is, and how it’s spread
•The role of hand hygiene in preventing the spread of infection
•Responses to common objections to hand hygiene
•When and how to perform hand hygiene
•When to use alcohol based hand rubs
